ASRock is dedicated to full transparency regarding data generated by our connected products and related services. In compliance with Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 (the "EU Data Act"), this notice outlines key pre-contractual information for users of ASRock connected products.
In compliance with Article 3(2) of the EU Data Act, this pre-contractual notice outlines key details regarding the data generated by your connected product, including its type, format, and estimated volume. It also details whether data is generated in real time, how and where it is stored (on-device or remotely), applicable retention periods, and the methods available for users to access, retrieve, or delete their data.
Type, format, and estimated volume of product data
ASRock connected products—including motherboards, graphics cards, monitors, liquid coolers, and power supplies—may generate technical data regarding hardware operation, system performance, and configuration when used in conjunction with ASRock software.
Type of product data: hardware parameters (e.g., voltages, fan speeds, temperatures, capacities), GPU and CPU performance metrics (e.g., usage, clock speeds, frame rates, power consumption), user configurations (e.g., fan curves, overclocking settings, OSD layouts), system and network logs (e.g., connected devices, bandwidth, wireless signals), and device health status.
Formats: generated data may be stored in structured formats such as CSV or JSON, configuration files (CFG), or log files (TXT or LOG).
Estimated volume: data volume typically ranges from a few kilobytes (KB) to several megabytes (MB) per day.
Continuous and Real-Time Data
ASRock connected products possess the capability to continuously generate and present performance data in real time.
Data Storage and Retention Policy
All data generated by ASRock connected products is stored locally on the device by default. Users can customize storage paths, file size limits, and retention periods directly through ASRock software. ASRock does not automatically sync, upload, or transfer any of this data to remote servers.
User Data Access, Retrieval, and Erasure
Users can view data directly within ASRock software or retrieve stored files using standard file management tools, such as Windows File Explorer. Data and custom configurations can be deleted manually or reset to defaults through the software settings.
Third-Party Software and Services
ASRock may offer trial versions of third-party software, such as Norton antivirus, for download on its official website. Please note that third-party software may collect and store certain data on remote servers in accordance with their respective data policies. If you choose to download and use Norton software, please refer to the Norton Statement (https://us.norton.com/privacy) for detailed information on their data handling, storage, and privacy practices.
ASRock affirms its commitment to handling product and service data in accordance with the principles of transparency, user access, and compliance with applicable law, including the EU Data Act. Users have direct, on-device access to the product data and retain full discretion over the use and sharing of those data.
